Behavioral consultation and intervention from a Category A Behavior ConsultantRegistry of Autism Service Providers (RASP), British Columbia

Raising a neurodivergent child comes with challenges that generic parenting advice simply wasn't designed to address. Challenging behaviors, meltdowns, rigid routines, and difficulty with transitions aren't signs of bad parenting — they're signs that your family needs support from someone who truly understands how your child's brain works.

As a BCBA with a Master of Education (M.Ed.) specializing in Autism and Developmental Disorders, I provide individualized, evidence-based behavioral intervention rooted in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Whether you're navigating aggressive behaviors, self-injury, non-compliance, or struggles with daily routines, I work directly with you — the parent — to build practical strategies you can implement with confidence at home.

Through virtual parent coaching and consultation, families across Canada, the US, and worldwide get access to the same quality of BCBA support that was once only available in-person.

Let’s talk about what’s happening at home and how specialized behavior support can help.

Who I Work With

BCBA Elisha Iggulden providing behavioral intervention and parent coaching to families with children with special needs.

As a BCBA, I specialize in supporting neurodivergent families and children, including those with:

✨Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

✨PDA Profile

✨Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

✨Anxiety disorders

✨Sensory processing sensitivities

✨Developmental delays

✨Other neurodevelopmental differences

That said, the strategies I use work beautifully for neurotypical children, as well.

My approach is effective for toddlers, preschoolers, and young children ages 18 months to 10 years —strategies are always developmentally appropriate and tailored to your child's individual needs.

My Approach to Behavior Consultation

Family-centered, child-led, evidence-based behavioral intervention and support from a BCBA and autism specialist.

BCBA Elisha Iggulden providing evidence-based behavioral intervention in family's home.

Here's what makes my approach different:

✓ Individualized to your child:

No cookie-cutter solutions. Every strategy is tailored to your child's specific needs, developmental level, and unique personality.

✓ Family-centered collaboration:

You know your child best. I work with you to identify priorities, understand your values, and develop goals that are meaningful and achievable within your daily routines.

✓ Positive, play-based methods:

I don't rely on punishment strategies. Instead, I use reinforcement, naturalistic teaching, and positive behavior support to build skills and reduce challenging behaviors in ways that respect your child's dignity.

✓ Practical tools you can actually use:

You'll receive strategies, visual supports, and step-by-step instructions that can be implemented immediately—designed to fit into your family's daily life without adding overwhelming complexity.

✓ Expertise in neurodivergent children:

I have specialized training and extensive experience with autism, ADHD, anxiety, sensory processing disorder, and other developmental differences—I understand the unique challenges your family faces.

I believe in meeting families where they are—with compassion, understanding, and practical support that fits into your real life.

Evidence-Based Behavioral Strategies That Actually Work

Unlike generic parenting advice, the strategies I teach are grounded in decades of research on how children learn.

Elisha Iggulden, Behavior Analyst coaching parent on use of token boards for neurodivergent support.

You'll receive guidance on:

  • Positive and negative reinforcement (the right way to motivate cooperation)

  • Antecedent strategies (preventing problems before they start)

  • Visual supports (schedules, social stories, choice boards)

  • Behavioral momentum (getting cooperation for hard tasks)

  • Prompting and fading (teaching independence step-by-step)

  • Extinction (safely reducing attention-seeking behaviors)

  • Functional communication training (teaching better ways to get needs met)

  • Environmental modifications (setting your child up for success)

These aren't just theories—they're practical tools that transform daily struggles into manageable routines.

Frequently Asked Questions About Behavior Consultations

  • Yes! While I specialize in neurodivergent children, the behavioral strategies I teach are effective for all children because they're based on how humans learn. If your child is struggling with challenging behaviors, I can help—regardless of whether they have a diagnosis. .

  • Behavioral consultation services are sometimes covered by extended health benefits, depending on your plan. I provide detailed receipts you can submit for potential reimbursement. In British Columbia, families with children diagnosed with autism may be eligible for funding through the Autism Funding Unit (AFU).

  • For comprehensive in-home consultation, I serve the Greater Vancouver area. However, my Behavioral Consultation Mini Sessions and Parent Coaching packages are available virtually to families anywhere—British Columbia, across Canada, the United States, and internationally.

  • I am not a therapist or counselor. As a BCBA, I focus specifically on behavior—understanding why challenging behaviors happen and teaching families evidence-based strategies to address them. If your child needs mental health therapy or counseling, I can work collaboratively with their therapist while providing behavioral support.

  • Generic parenting advice often doesn't work for children with special needs—or for particularly challenging behaviors. As a BCBA, I provide individualized, evidence-based strategies tailored specifically to your child's needs, developmental level, and the unique factors driving their behavior. This isn't one-size-fits-all; it's personalized support based on behavioral science.

  • You can always schedule additional consultation sessions, join my Positive Behavior Support (PBS) coaching package for ongoing support, or inquire about comprehensive in-home services if you're in the Greater Vancouver area.
